Counselling Project In & OUT

Welcome to our website!

And thanks for coming here. On these pages, you‘ll find information on our project, how to find help and how to participate.

Who are we and what do we do?

We’re young lesbian, gay and bisexual people up to and including the age of 26 who want to support other young people. You can talk to us about issues such as coming out, partnerships and relationships, discrimination, loneliness, problems with your parents or maybe you just need someone to talk to.

We also provide information on contact- and counselling addresses and events (youth groups, facilities relating to social education, parties etc.).

However, we not only give advice to young people, but also to their relatives, friends, teachers and other people looking for advice.

Counselling service

Our office is in the rooms of the Jugendnetzwerk Lambda Berlin-Brandenburg in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. Here, we meet on a regular basis and this is where we do most of our counselling work, which is mostly done electronically (emailing). However, we also offer counselling by phone, in person or by letter.

Are you looking for advice? Then this is the right place for you.

Our counselling is based on the main principles and techniques of the client-centred talking therapy and the systematic, solution-oriented short-term therapy.

How to become a counsellor?

We’re always looking for new counsellors! Have you come out and do you want to help and share your experiences? Well, IN&OUT should be the right place for you then.
Step by step you will be prepared for the tasks. Experienced counsellors as well as a psychologist will support you. You’ll then, together with others, take part in a three-day communications- and counselling course, where you’ll receive important basics on interviewing/negotiation and counselling.

All counsellors are constantly under professional supervision and receive further training.
